Semantic Web Company (SWC) is a technology provider and software vendor headquartered in Vienna (Austria) with offices in UK and US. SWC supports organizations from all industrial sectors worldwide to improve their information and management by mainly making use of semantic web technologies and linked (open) data. Our core product - PoolParty Semantic Suite (https://www.poolparty.biz) - has outstanding capabilities to extract meaning from big data by making use of linked data technologies.

Using Drupal and Linked Data Technology we are realising:

  • (Linked Open) Data Portals
  • Information and Knowledge Platforms
  • Community Systems and Matchmaking Services
  • News- & Content Aggregation Solutions

Our software supports the following issues of semantic information management:

  • managing corporate knowledge models (taxonomies, thesauri, ontologies, knowledge graphs)
  • extract knowledge from big data via text mining including automated tagging and content classification
  • build recommender systems and similarity mechanisms
  • link enterprise (big) data & open (government) data
  • conceptual design and implementation of data and information portals

On the market since 2009 PoolParty Semantic Suite product family enables global 500 companies to enter the semantic age of information and data management with scalable, easy to manage, corporate knowledge models (industrial knowledge graphs). PoolParty APIs allow integration of semantic technologies with other systems like CMS, DMS, web shops or collaboration software like Drupal, WordPress, Atlassian Confluence, or MS Sharepoint.

Our customers come from different industries (media & pulishing, pharma, energy, telecommunications, finance) and government / public administration as well as from the NGO/NPO sector including International Organisations, aiming to extract knowledge from (big) data from within their organisations and/or from the web, publish data and make information accessible on top of open standards to improve communication between knowledge workers by using social software and/or semantic technologies

The three key success factors to meet these challenges are:

  • establish professional metadata management
  • use standards from the semantic web and
  • embed semantic technologies and social software in common web-based and enterprise systems

Drupal contributions

We are a semantic information and data management ICT vendor, located in Vienna, Austria with partner offices across Europe, in UK, US and Australia integrating our core product PoolParty Semantic Suite (https://www.poolparty.biz/) into Drupal as a comprehensive Taxonomy, Thesaurus and Ontology modelling software that can be used to model domain specific (industry) knowledge graphs that can be imported into Drupal as taxonomies (including add. information as e.g. the URI) to act as centralised metadata and taxonomy management solution to e.g. manage several Drupal instances and/or different systems in your technology stack (e.g. one Drupal and one Sharepoint and/or Confluence etc.).

Our textmining component allows (semantic) auto-tagging of specified content in a Drupal system to enable continuous and precise annotation (indexing) of Drupal nodes and thereby the semantic enrichment of such content items. The textmining module can be configured to content types, fields of content types, several taxonomies and text analysis can be applied to attachments. Bulk autotagging is possible as well as semi-automatic manual tagging (editors choice).

This helps customers to realise powerful features like semantic search, smart glossaries, recommender systems or matchmaking solutions, and dossier pages et al. A comprehensive set of Drupal modules are in place to connect PoolParty Semantic Suite with Drupal CMS and enable several mentioned semantic features!
