The PowerTagging module is able to analyze content from Drupal nodes including file attachements. PowerTagging annotates content automatically with concepts from a thesaurus or taxonomy by using all their names (incl. synonyms). Users can curate all suggested tags or can also index collections of Drupal content nodes automatically resulting in a semantic index. This makes search more comfortable than ever before.
Possibilities
- Automatically annotate content in Drupal based on controlled vocabularies.
- Categorize content by selected concepts (tags).
- Enhance search by considering synonyms.
Features
- Tag your Drupal content with concepts out of your PoolParty thesaurus and additional custom tags.
- PowerTagging can do the work for you by extracting the content of your entity and offering you concepts and already existing free terms that fit best.
- File extraction: File-fields can also be used to identify the most fitting concepts of an entity.
- Entity types "node", "user" and "taxonomy term" are currently supported to be tagged.
- Easily customize your entity's tags with manual tags combined with an auto-completion of already used tags.
- Multilingual thesauri and therefore multilingual tagging is supported.
- Your whole content can be tagged automatically at once via Bulk-Tagging.
- PowerTagging is flawlessly working together with all sub modules of the Semantic Connector.
How to use
The recommended release of this module is the latest 2.x version. Most of the main features of the PowerTagging module were rebuilt in version 2.x, therefore updating from version 1.x to 2.x is not possible.
A complete documentation on how to install and use this module and use all of its features can be found in the Drupal Module Documentation Space.
The list below is only a quickstart-guide for advanced Drupal users.
Requirements:
- PPT & PPX (PoolParty Enterprise Edition) are required as an extraction source of concepts used for tagging.
- cURL needs to be installed on the web server your Drupal-instance runs on.
- The "Semantic Connector"-module (https://drupal.org/project/semantic_connector) needs to be installed and enabled, version 2.x of PowerTagging requires version 2.x of the Semantic Connector.
- The "Sliderfield"-module (https://drupal.org/project/sliderfield) needs to be installed and enabled for Drupal 7.
- If you plan to use multilingual tagging, the "Internationalization"-module (https://drupal.org/project/i18n) and its sub-module "Taxonomy Translation" are also required for Drupal 7, for Drupal 8 the "Content Translation" module needs to be enabled, which is already included in core.
- If you want to select tags inside a visual representation of the PoolParty project, the module requires the d3js library to be installed at "sites/all/libraries/d3js".
Usage:
- Install and enable first the modules from the "Requirements"-list above and then the PowerTagging-module (See https://drupal.org/documentation/install/modules-themes/modules-7 for further information.)
- Configure a powertagging configuration at admin/config/services/powertagging.
- Add the now available "Powertagging Tags" field to all the entity bundles you want. Currently supported entity types are nodes, users and taxonomy terms.
- After completely configuring the new field, tagging is available inside the edit-area of entities of your configured bundle.
- For batch operations go to the "Batch jobs" tab in the configuration of a specific PowerTagging configuration.
