➤ We are always working to make DDI channels a better place to work and communicate. If you haven’t already, please read our Guidelines:

0️⃣ If you’re joining us today, please introduce yourself. If you’d like tell us something special you’re doing/ or planning to do this month.

kara Kara running late
alannaburke Alanna, developer outside of Philadelphia PA, and it’s my birthday next week, so hopefully doing something with friends and I want to see the new Jurassic Park!
rubyji Hi, y’all. I just got off the phone with a coworker who had been flagged as a spammer by Google. But I fixed it. So I feel like a god now.
rubyji I’m looking forward to a family trip to London in a few weeks!
ekl1773 Elli here, one special thing will be submitting a session(s) for Drupal Europe… :fingerscrossed: Haven’t submitted before!
alexdmccabe Alex, from Orlando, FL, US. This weekend @hrodrig is coming to visit and we're going to Disney!
baddysonja Baddy living in Frankfurt, born in Iceland :slightly_smiling_face:
Like always, I have a parallel meeting at the same time but I’m checking the threads and listening. I’m planning a birthday party for my daughter on Saturday and also watching World Cup in football/soccer every day
baddysonja @alexdmccabe and @hrodrig I’ve been to Disney and it is great. Make sure you don’t miss the fireworks in the evening. Only negative thing about disney is how crazy expensive it is :disappointed:
alexdmccabe @baddysonja We've got annual passes, which makes it a lot cheaper to go. No blackout dates so we can drop in whenever we want. More than once we've gone to Epcot after work to get dinner and watch the fireworks show.
baddysonja lucky you - have fun :sparkler:
rachel_norfolk Rachel, joining late. Something special? Not sure I’ve planned it through enough yet :innocent:
amyjune AmyJune - late to the party :slightly_smiling_face: This month we're going up to Oregon to celebrate my sister's birthday.
mdrummond Disneyland Paris was p great. I am not really here, just taking a peep while resting my feet from walking around chateaux.
drnikki Hi! late to the party, but this month I’m doing my academic plan for the next year and it’s exciting and scary.
sparklingrobots Tara, like way beyond fashionably late. My big plan for the month is moving to ABQ, NM and that's finally happening on Saturday. :zia:

1️⃣ *DDI Contrib team sprint day*
<#C76TQUQ2D|ddi-contrib-team> is a DD&I initiative aimed at increasing contribution from under-represented and marginalized individuals in the Drupal community. They’re working on new models of mentorship & support around contribution. And they would like to host a virtual sprint day!

They have a form if you’d like to sign up and pick some dates:

rubyji Someone last week said she could help. I think it was @ekl1773? Not sure if anyone followed up with her.
ekl1773 hi, hi. I tagged onto that convo late last week but yes.
rubyji I think @sparklingrobots is in the middle of moving so is probably not able to respond right away.
ekl1773 I think what this form needs to come with is a cut-off date. There are 8 responses so far. This being a a gauging interest form, how far/wide do we want to share it? There are a decent number of folks raising their hand as mentors so far but not super clear choice of month/day etc.
amyjune I can spread the news through social media ( Hook 42 and BADCamp) if you'd like..when we're ready... Just let me know
ekl1773 I think it’s ready so we might as well go for it and see what shakes out :slightly_smiling_face:
ekl1773 I don’t have access to DDI accounts if someone could please share from there thank you!
ekl1773 (it would be good to retweet and funnel clicks to DDI)
amyjune Ok - I have some client work today - i will set up those tweets and other medias to go out monday :slightly_smiling_face:
sugaroverflow I can share via the DD&I twitter, but can someone write up the tweet?
ekl1773 @sugaroverflow Perhaps: `The DDI Contribution Team (mentioned in @Dries' blogpost this week!) is planning a virtual contribution day- If this sounds like something you would be interested in as a mentor or contributor, please fill out our poll! `
ekl1773 Don’t have to mention the blog post tho.
sugaroverflow awesome thank you!
sugaroverflow I will get this out tomorrow morning so it gets more eyes
sparklingrobots We can ask Angie and/or Dries for a RT, too, for signal boosting?

2️⃣ *DD&I Handbook*
We’re working on the first draft of our DD&I handbook that will outline the processes, initiatives, and contributor journey for DD&I:

_Emoji Vote_
This is meant to be a _living document_, but _where_ should it live for the most access to contributions?

:computer: Keep these sections as .txt files in our d.o repo so people can submit patches for changes
:memo: Keep these sections in d.o documentation pages where people can suggest edits?

rubyji I am undecided about this.
ekl1773 What would you all say are the pros for it being a repo/patches? I lean towards doc pages being a bit less of a hurdle for non-coders.
sugaroverflow I’m also leaning towards doc pages. Someone mentioned that they might not have revision history?
ekl1773 So far as I know they do…
alexdmccabe I was leaning toward repo but I think that's my coder bias. Gotta remove those barriers for non-coders.
ekl1773 huh, maybe I’m wrong. There’s this, for example:
sugaroverflow that looks like revisions
sugaroverflow we weren’t sure
rubyji The repo approach would definitely be a barrier to me, although I’d probably get over it. I just wonder if others would.
gusaus Hi - I think figuring out the best place for DD&I docs to reside is in scope with the <#C220WV2TW|documentation> initiative

3️⃣ *DrupalGovCon DD&I efforts*
DrupalGovCon is happening on August 22-24 in Bethesda, MD.

:heavy_check_mark: DD&I table spot (thanks organizers!)
:heavy_check_mark: DD&I session accepted
:heavy_check_mark: Wonderful volunteers to power this effort

Planning is happening in the <#CB7SWDLLD|ddi-govcon> channel and in this google doc:

4️⃣ *Drupal Europe*
The organizers have offered a DD&I table - and other support if we want it.

_Emoji Vote_
:airplane_departure: you’re going and would like to plan something
 you’re thinking about going

P.S: session submissions are still open:

alannaburke i am not going but can help organize from this end. also ship stickers/etc
baddysonja We would be happy to see a session proposal from all of you. If you need help or want to discuss ideas you can contact <#C3G1G53CN|ddi-session-help>
sugaroverflow sadly, I don’t know if I can afford to go :disappointed: and don’t think there’s a scholarship?

5️⃣ *Personal Check-Ins* - how’s everyone doing?

alannaburke I am sad about Koko the gorilla. Also the world, but specifically that right now.
ekl1773 Par for the course here, excited and anxious generally. Basically good.
alexdmccabe KOKO DIED?!
alexdmccabe :crying_cat_face:
nine.lives.black.cat Yesterday we had a Cyber Security enrichment excursion for the Dallas chapter of Black Girls Code, and it was so much fun! Bank of America were our hosts. The kids got to learn a TON about cyber security and I got to be their chaperone. I was also super inspired by the women speakers they had encouraging them (and us) to speak up and push back when we're pushed against for doing our jobs.

6️⃣ *Celebrations*

:arrow_right: @Dries for this blog post about recognizing the diversity of the Drupal community and how @sparklingrobots is leading `#ddi-contrib-team#` to support underrepresented groups in the contribution process.

:arrow_right: the DA for choosing to be an ally this month:

rachel_norfolk Just been having a look and I think we gained more followers from this tweet than any other this year

:ddi: :ddi: :ddi:
Official meeting and conversations will continue in the threads.
Thank you for showing up and contributing to make this community a better space.

➤ To send feedback about DD&I, the leadership team, anything really (even anonymous love letters _wink_):
➤ And the work continues over at:
➤Agenda for next week: [June 28 Agenda #2981023 | ]() - Feel free to add to it!

(I’m having a super rough week and since not many people are attending today, I’m posting the whole agenda all at once and going for lunch - thank you)
