This module improves on core's Empty Node Frontpage behavior area plugin when used on views that show a focused set of content. It lets site builders add links directly to entity creation forms, right in the header or footer of any view.
The intent is to make overall site maintenance easier by providing relevant and intuitive editorial links in context.
What's new in 2.0.0
Entity type selector
A new Entity type field lets you choose any entity type, not just the type the view is based on. You can add a "create term" link on a node view, or a "create node" link on a taxonomy view.
ECK support
Entities built with the Entity Construction Kit (ECK) module are now natively supported. The plugin correctly routes to the ECK add-form for any custom entity type and bundle.
Group module integration
When the Group module is installed and a view is displayed inside a group context, a new Create group content link checkbox routes the link to the group relationship creation form rather than the standalone entity form.
Anonymous user login button
When an anonymous user visits a view with this plugin and lacks permission to add content, the plugin now renders a Login to add your [bundle] link pointing to the login page, rather than showing nothing.
Default CSS classes
The Class field is pre-filled with button button--action button--primary, so new instances render as a styled Drupal action button without any extra configuration.
Disable destination parameter
A new Disable destination query parameter checkbox lets you opt out of sending users back to the view after they create content — useful for workflows where the editor should land on the entity they just created.
Per-entity-type form mode settings
Form mode selection (when Form Mode Control is installed) is now stored per entity type, so switching entity types preserves the correct form mode for each type independently.
Optional integrations
- ECK (Entity Construction Kit)
- Adds native support for custom entity types built with ECK. The plugin routes to the correct ECK add-form automatically.
- Group
- When inside a group context, optionally links to group content creation rather than the standalone entity form.
- Form Mode Control
- Target a specific form mode for the entity creation form when multiple form modes are defined for an entity type.
