I enabled the debug module and checked off the option to "Benchmark database queries". The debug status is showing but I do not see any information about number of queries.

Thanks for the report. The database query benchmark only works in 6.x-1.x, it was never fully ported to 7.x-1.x/7.x-2.x. In fact I intended to remove that dead code in #2355957: Cleanup authcache_debug.js but obviously forgot the UI.

Ah, ok. Thank you. I guess devel module is the way to go for benchmarking database queries.
