Auto Link Formatter for Drupal Layout Builder

This module provides a Field Formatter for the core Drupal Layout Builder,
allowing plain text fields to automatically convert URLs into clickable hyperlinks.
The formatter, called "Auto Link", includes an option to set the target for the links
(e.g., open in a new tab).

The module detects and replaces URLs that start with http* or www.*,
while preserving new lines in plain text fields.

Features

  • Automatically converts URLs in plain text fields into hyperlinks.
  • Optionally set links to open in a new tab.

Installation & Usage

  1. Navigate to the content type where you want to use the formatter.
  2. Click Manage DisplayManage Layout.
  3. Select the block containing the plain text field.
  4. Click Configure and choose "Auto Link" from the Field Formatter list (likely set to "Plain Text" by default).

Additional Requirements

None.

Support & Contributions
