Error after updating the module to version 8.x-1.9 (colorbox 8.x-1.9):

Symfony\Component\DependencyInjection\Exception\ServiceNotFoundException: You have requested a non-existent service "file_url_generator". Did you mean this: "url_generator"? in Drupal\Component\DependencyInjection\Container->get() (line 153 of /www/core/lib/Drupal/Component/DependencyInjection/Container.php).

Colorbox 1.9 is not compatible with drupal 8 !

The 8.x-1.x-dev version is compatible with Drupal 8. I reverted the change that made it incompatible. See #3265549-9: Remove deprecated code.

I will be releasing 8.x-1.10 today, which will also be compatible with Drupal 8.8.x through 9.2.x.
