Given that you want a bundle-able custom entity that supports revisions there could be allot of code necessary to get you where you want to be.
This module will allow you to subclass a base entity class so you mostly only have to provide an entity plugin and an entity type (config entity) plugin. I routing file and a couple of skeleton classes are also required. See the ceb_test test module for an example.
