Hi there
I just saw that the steps on the Create a Sandbox Help page (https://drupal.org/node/1068950/) seem not to apply anymore.
Step 2: Fill out the form. Make sure the sandbox check box is selected. (It will be force-checked if you have not yet received permission to promote your sandbox projects to full projects.)
In the comments, the people discussed that the check box is not there anymore. Today I needed to create a sandbox and was struggling over this
I would rephrase this as follow:
Fill out the form. Your new project will be automatically be a sandbox project until you receive the permission to promote your sandbox project to a full project.
In my opinion, we should also include how permission for promotion is granted to clarify the process.

Alienpruts CreditAttribution: Alienpruts commentedAgreed, I will make the proposed change. However, do you have a suggestion as how to document the proces of changing into a full project?
Alienpruts CreditAttribution: Alienpruts commentedNeeds review, waiting for clarification text as proposed by dasrecht.
dasrecht CreditAttribution: dasrecht commentedHi there
I would link to the creating a sandbox documentation (https://drupal.org/node/1011196)
I think we should also mention the one time approval process for moving sandboxes to full projects as documented here (https://drupal.org/node/1011698)
As documented.
I'd add this with a reference to the documentation how to obtain the aproval to the documentation.
What do you think?
Alienpruts CreditAttribution: Alienpruts commentedPersonally, I'm sold on the idea. However, we must not lose track of what this page is about. The title sums it up : "Creating a Sandbox Project". I would stick with a simple 'link (something in the genre of "How to proceed further with your Sandbox Project") to the Sandbox documentation, and that 's it. So, my proposal :
Your thoughts? This might seem a bit rash, but we should avoid double-mentioning the same thing as much as possible.

dasrecht CreditAttribution: dasrecht commentedOk for me. Go :)

gisleThere is another open issue about amending this documentation.
Alienpruts CreditAttribution: Alienpruts commentedThank you for bringing this to our attention. I would however say that your issue is only loosely connected to this issue. I would link to the page about setting up a sandbox project in Git in step 4) on this page (perhaps "How to set up your sandbox project in Git" or something like that).
Agree?
gisleAgree.
jhodgdonI've updated the page quite a bit, incorporating comments. I think it is OK now.
gisleI couldn't find a link to the information about how to gain permission to promote a Sandbox to a Full project (re. comments #3 and #4), so I added a link for this.

jhodgdonExcellent, thanks!
