Entity Reference Facet Link provides a formatter plugin for entity reference fields, including taxonomy term reference fields. It will allow you to display those entity references as links to a faceted search page.
Here is an example use case: Say you have a faceted search page, for instance one created using the Views; Search API; and Facets modules, that displays nodes containing a taxonomy field. That taxonomy field is used as a facet on your search page. If you went to a node and clicked on the link provided by the default formatter for the taxonomy term, it would take you to that term's default view page. This may be bad for usability. Instead, you may want that term to link back to the search page which is filtered by that facet. This module will give you that ability.

Issues
#3527158: ERFL is incompatible with Facets Exposed Filters
Facets 3 introduced Facets Exposed Filters, which integrates facets directly into Views' exposed filters. ERFL is completely incompatible with the new exposed filters. They are based on a separate API from the one used by ERFL. There is no timeline for introducing compatibility.
If you are using Facets 3 and require ERFL, then you need to use the old Facets API instead of Facets Exposed Filters.
#2865710: Dependencies from only one instance of a widget are used in display modes
A bug in core prevents multiple dependent facets from being registered as dependencies of entity displays. This only impacts you if a content entity uses this formatter for more than one field. See the beta2 release notes for more information.
