Unable to mark translation needs update

When editing a translation, if the needs update checkbox was not checked before, it is disabled. Therefore, if I notice my translation is out of date, but do not have time to fix it, I cannot mark that finding there to come back later. I think that is a pretty useful feature of the core translation module that is lost here.
