This module replicates the "Site Footer" feature from Drupal 6.x for Drupal 7.x websites.
A configurable footer message, editable from the site-information form and displayed as a block, as well as a theme variable available in page.tpl.php and hook_preprocess_page().
Using the footer message in a block is the most flexible approach. Though availability of the $footer_message variable in your theme is nice for Drupal 6.x to 7.x theme upgrades.
Note: A migration path from Drupal 6.x sites to Drupal 7.x sites "works", but isn't beautiful. Enable the module, if it finds a "site_footer" value in your database, it will pull this text into your new Footer Message module configuration.
