The Geomap Field module provides a new type of field Address containing several fields:
- Address name
- Street
- Postal code
- City
- Country
- Additionnal address information
- Latitude
- Longitude
The fields are displayed next to a map that will indicate precisely where the marker will be positioned with the address entered.
A button is also available, it allows the webmaster to locate his address on the map. The latitude and longitude fields will be retrieved automatically (by default). The user also has the possibility to override the latitude and longitude if he needs to enter precise coordinates.
This solution is very useful if you need to display contents on a map, because you will already have the precise coordinates of your marker stored in database. Therefore you have a gain in terms of performance because you don't need to search for the coordinates when the page loads.
The module also provides a field formatter to display the field as a map on your site.
A simple module for a simple purpose to avoid the heavier modules.
