Allow user to switch between miles and kilometres

Is it possible to give the user the option to switch between miles and kilometres? I'm building a store locator for a global brand and they have stores everywhere.

I assume it's possible but I haven't found an option in the configuration or the UI. I can see there is an option to switch the locator between them, but not a user-level control.
