This module adds an "Is Private" checkbox to groups that allows marking them as private. Private groups deny all access checks (including limiting lists such as those defined by views) for group outsiders, even if the permissions defined on the group type would otherwise allow access.
For example say you have a group type "Department" that allows members to create "Document" nodes and all users to view "Document" nodes. You want group "Management" to function the same as most other groups but only allow group members to view "Document" nodes. Marking the group "Private" would have this effect.
