Mini Layouts

Mini Layouts is a spiritual successor to "Mini Panels" from Drupal 7, built on the core Layout Builder module.

Mini Layouts lets administrators define blocks that contain other blocks arranged in a layout. Build a section once with Layout Builder, then place it as a block wherever you need it.

Features

• Build mini layouts with the standard Layout Builder interface, using any layout and any block, including inline custom blocks.
• Each mini layout becomes a block you can place in the Block layout or in Layout Builder displays.
• Define required contexts, such as a node or user, for the blocks inside a mini layout to use.
• When placed in a Layout Builder display, field blocks inside a mini layout show the fields of the entity being displayed.
• Mini layouts are configuration, so they can be exported and deployed.

Getting started

1. Enable Mini Layouts (it requires core Layout Builder).
2. Go to Structure » Mini Layouts and add a mini layout.
3. Optionally add required contexts, then use the Layout tab to arrange blocks.
4. Place the new block from the Block layout page or a Layout Builder display.

Recommended patches

#3001188 lets third-party modules alter the contexts available to layouts. Mini Layouts supports this patch when it is installed.
