Enables one to use both an admin title and a display title for a node. The admin title will appear on admin related pages, whilst the "display" title will be displayed to site visitors. This enables the creation of more meaningful content titles for site administrators, while at the same time, providing site visitors with a different, more appropriate content title.

About

This module was inspired when creating a small, multi domain site using Domain Access module. Each site had a page called Services. But the admin of the site would get confused which 'Services' page belonged to which site since the titles were the same. With this module the admin could set the display title to 'Services', while retaining a more meaningful title for admins (e.g. 'MYS Services', 'GMC Services', 'QMLC Services').

Installation

Download and enable the module.

Use

Go to the 'Node Display Title' page under the 'Configure' menu. Select which node types should use the display title and press 'save' button. This will add a "Display title" field to the relevant content type. This 'display title' value will automatically replace the node title when the node is viewed.

Support for Drupal core search is also added. The display title will be used instead of the admin title when indexing relevant content.

Note that if this module has been enabled for a given content type, but you do not provide a "display" title, then the normal node title will be used when viewing content. In other words, enabling this module for a given content type does not force you to use a "display" title. So you can mix and match as you like.

Works anywhere rendered nodes are used including Views and Panels.
