I recently made the upgrade from 1.0-alpha1 to 2.1 and since then the ajax load of exposed filters on blocks displayed as a node subpages has ceased to work. It briefly shows the progress circle but nothing happens.

I'm not sure when I'll have a chance to look into this. Are you seeing any errors in the watchdog (admin/reports/dblog) when this happens?

No watchdog errors. But I do get a ajax_views.js error in firebug vs just placing the block on a page. I worked with https://drupal.org/node/1452400 to get that resolved but I don' think that was the issue in the first place.
For the life of me I can't figure out what makes 2.x different when displaying the views block on the page vs 1.x or just using the blocks panel to add it to the page that would interfere with an ajax load. At first I thought is was an issue with the complication of the view and contextual filters but I can't get even a simple view with and ajax supported exposed filter to work.
