This module enables setting a vocabulary as 'private'. A private vocabulary allows users to own their own terms in a vocabulary. This associates every term in a private vocabulary with a user.
Users with the permission 'administer own taxonomy' can maintain their own terms. This allows a user to create, modify and delete terms associated with them in a private vocabulary.
Users with the 'view private taxonomies' permission can view the terms of other users. This allows a user to create content categorized with their terms in a private vocabulary and yet allow other users to see those terms.
There also are settings to assign default terms in a private vocabulary to new users or to existing users.
Additional features in the 7.x-1.x version.
A private term reference field has been added with a setting to restrict terms to the current user or all users (current user and users with a specified role has also been added as a setting). Widgets for this field have also been added. Integration with the Views module has also been added. Tokens for the term owner have also been added.
The Private SOLR module integrates Private Taxonomy with the Apache SOLR module. This module adds private term reference to the list of facets.
Additional features in the 8.x-1.x version.
A private term reference field is available. This can limit terms to all users, the current user, or the current user and users with a specified role.
Integration of Private Taxonomy with Apache Solr is not available until code for dependencies is ready.

There are two major versions of Private Taxonomy which correspond with different versions of Drupal 8:
- Private Taxonomy 8.x-1.x: Drupal core 8.2 and below.
