This module augments the core diacritics removal feature. Core only works on a narrow slice of Latin letters removing accents from 288 characters. This module uses the Unicode decomposition rules to remove diacritics from 827 characters and adds 40 characters which overlaid diacritics which core have removal roles for but Unicode does not. These 40 live in the remove_diacritics.settings config object, no UI is currently written but core has single item export/item, drush has config-edit etc. Contribution is welcome. The config object also supports removing any undesired characters.
After installing, it's advisable to redo any search indexes depending on the remove diacritics feature.
