Forked from the Similar By Terms, this module uses an entity reference field (rather than the taxonomy index) to count shared references between entities and create a similarity score in a view.
Advantages over Similar By Terms
- not restricted to taxonomy term references
- could be expanded to work for more than just node views
Known Limitations
- cannot use multiple Similar by reference contextual filters on the same view
- only compares entities of the same entity type
- only compares entities of different bundles if they share the same reference field
- not designed for Dynamic Entity Reference fields or Entity Reference Revision fields
