This module uses the smart_ip module for language detection from an IP address's physical location.
This differs from other modules that perform a similar function because smart ip supports a large number of data sources and this is extendable by plugins. These data sources also support city location data along with both free and paid premium data sets.
Usage
- Configure the
smart_ipmodule. At a very basic level, you can just configure the dataset and disable location tracking for all user roles. - Visit
/admin/config/regional/language/detection. - Enable 'Smart IP'
- Click Configure for the 'Smart IP' plugin
- Click 'Add mapping' and create a new language mapping.
Roadmap
- Smart IP supports city detection so we want to enable these in our mappings.
