I am using statuses dev with flag 2 with no issues. The only problem is that when someone flags a statuses or comments, I cannot log it and trigger rules because it is not an entity.

Secondly, I cannot use flag 3 and it is another drawback as few new useful modules are built for flag 3.

I found a very important patch for this problem, which the developer claims to work for him. He also stated that it is not clean as he is busy and somebody needs to review it. I tried it, but only managed to remove couple of errors from the patch. If anybody put there can have a look at it. It is not too much of a code. Especially for people who understand patches.

I think you might want to create issues for each patch. It's not clear what each patch fixes.
