Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
This module is an extension to the Group module that allows you to set up a hierarchy of groups, with permissions inheriting up or down the tree.
It's designed like the Group module in a sense that you configure your set-up once and then all groups behave according to these rules.
Instructions
- Download and install the module (and its dependencies)
- Go to admin/group/subgroup
- Set up a tree structure and inheritances
- Enjoy your Subgroup functionality!
Special note
- The initial release requires you to set up your tree (almost) from scratch. There are limitations to what you can do on websites with existing groups.
- The UI was not the main recipient of the development budget, so improvements could be needed in that area
