Demonstration on a test website.

This project is not covered by Drupal’s security advisory policy.

This module creates a block allowing users to quickly setup their location (street, city, etc.) through a block, therefore being geolocalized with automatic calculation of latitude / longitude.

The Where I Am module depends on the Location module (plus its User Locations submodule) and plays very well with Google Maps, Get Locations and any other Location-based map system, becoming very useful for setting up "Around me" applications, where the users geocode themselves and are displayed on a map together with the nearbiest locations (nodes).

Mobile websites can also make great use of this functionality, wherever GPS or other geolocalizing hardware devices are not available.

Important: Due to some unsolved / unimplemented issues in the CCK Location module for d7 (related to entities different from Node) the module (for now) only works with standard User Locations

TODOs for the next days / weeks:

  • Administration page for setting up fields different from city and address
  • Better documentation
  • More information and data available for the block
  • Ideas?
