This is an integration of the CKEditor MediaEmbed plugin (in 8.x this is in core, in 6.x & 7.x for the Wysiwyg module).
As of 8.x-1.0-alpha3 the module is Drupal 9 compatible in its code, although more testing would be advisable.
- Drupal 8: An 8.x-1.x dev version is now available thanks to gnuget (#2565765: Update Wysiwyg Media Embed for Drupal 8?). No additional modules required.
- Two additional versions of MediaEmbed plugin you can try are here and here (MIT license).
Please file any plugin bug (as opposed to module bugs) under the "Plugin Code" component. The goal is to provide an issue queue for the plugin, since there is no issue queue on the plugin website. Note that this is a personal initiative: the plugin developer have been made aware of this queue, but he is not notified of the bugs filed here.
