Bootstrap: GDS Design principle is a based on the Bootstrap framework for drupal.

The base theme has been modified to adhere to the design principles outlined by the UK Goverment Design Service.

The GDS was tasked with consolidating 152 Goverment transactional services sites into one standardised platform which would be used by a wide range of users of age and computer literacy.

GOV.UK commissioned the Centre for Information Design Research at the University of Reading to carry out research to help assess the content principles. This included looking at how language is best structured for reading on-screen and how content can be made as accessible as possible to all, regardless of age and background.

The GDS Design Principle can be thought of as a highly usable and accessibility compliant base theme, to be used on websites and systems that are built for varying user groups.

Bootstrap: GDS Design Principle was created as a bi-product of the distribution - Drupal: Property Manager
