I have been setting up websites with Drupal for a couple of months now and so far it mostly exceeded my expectations.

I am planning on setting up another site now and I really need your ideas and suggestions.

What I am planning to do is to put together a website for Canon Powershot users and any people researching about powershot cameras.

I have some ideas of what I can have on the website but I really value Drupal community's ideas and suggestions on that.

Newbie Question here....

Is their a node type that allows for the creation of a totally blank
page?

In other words I dont want the normal (title, posted by, date) to appear.
I just want a blank slate.

Is that possible? A module?

I have seen on some drupal-powered sites a link in the links section under a node content the link "%username's blog" but I don't have that link on either of my drupal-powered sites (both are only in development, one uses current cvs, the other 4.4.1). I suppose if a story/page/etc. is written by a user who has a personal blog on the site, the link to her/his blog should appear. What could I be doing wrong?

So, for no apparent reason, the menus module has stopped showing the menu blocks, ALSO there is no admin options or module options in the navigation for this module anymore....?

What gives, this just seemed to happen overnight and I cant think of a single thing that i've done to cause this....

Hello everyone,
I don't know about anyone else, but the Search button being out of line with the Search input box on the Search Results page is pretty ANNOYING to me. I have been fiddling with this for a long while...too long. Does anyone know how to line them up? I know all the information is in includes/common, but I just can't line them up. Will somebody PLEASE enlighten me?

Hello reader, I am new to Drupal. Please excuse my ignorance in advance. I am not an experienced web developer, but am an engineer and programmer. My girlfriend is a graphic artist who also dabbles in web site design. She’s been seeking my technical assistance on some recent projects and as a result I’ve learned some php/mysql/html web development.(Now I know enough to get into serious trouble -- or even scarier, work.)

We have a client who’s asked for collaboration features for their web site. They are a small services company and they hire contractors to work on various projects. The customers, company, and contractors are geographically disbursed. They want to be able to share files, discuss company issues, and discuss project issues. The users will be professional people with average ‘office’ computer skills. They’d like to be able to have customers and contractors work in a ‘sandbox’ site without having access to all the information on the main site. They also want the ability to view the contents of files within the web browser without explicitly downloading the file. Version control would also be a nice feature.

So far, I’ve looked into using Drupal, and Microsoft’s Windows SharePoint Services (WSS). I researched a few CMS systems, but most are way beyond there budget (probably looking at a few 000s.) The WSS solution is very attractive in that it’s simple, targeted at the average office worker, and offers the feature set that they need. The problem is that hosting the site is complicated that it’s a MS server solution, and they’re currently running Windows 2000 server, WSS comes with Windows Server 2003.
