Dordrechtsmuseum.nl - Interactive museum website (Showcase)

Dordrechts Museum - Introduction

In 2010 the new website of Dordrechts Museum was launched. The website was part of a bigger rebranding where the museum wanted to invest more in the relationship of visitors who visit often and give new and current visitors a interactive experience of the museum.

With that concept in mind the new website of Dordrechts Museum (www.dordrechtsmuseum.nl) has been developed.

The museum has about 30.000 pieces of art in total, only a selection of art is on display at the museum, on the website however the user can browse through much bigger selection then that are on display in the museum. To help the visitor in finding works they like we created a custom functionalitiy called ‘DNA’.
When the user registers on the site the user is asked to walk through a quick 4 step wizard to gather the first info on the users unique DNA. The DNA is an advanced algorithm which collects data from the user behavior. For example what the user likes, dislikes, adds as a favorite or leaves a comment on.

Based on the users DNA the website gives tips and recommendations of current and new works of art to keep the user coming back for regular visits.

Shazanah Hassan Photography - A Simple Photoblog

Hi all,

I've built an extremely simple photoblog with Drupal 7 at http://www.shazanahhassan.com. It's a very basic daily photo type affair with functionality that could have been easily supplied by PixelPost (or Wordpress).

So why did I use Drupal?

In a word, extensibility. Galleries, blogs and whimsical projects can be added easily. The Views and Image modules allow for hassle-free resizing and sorting. If it strikes me to make a little sub-site of every photograph I've ever taken on a Saturday, I don't have to delve into PHP to make it possible. If it strikes me to add a Portfolio element, I can do it with very little pain. Drupal makes even the simplest site seem like a simmering bowl of potential.

I've also noticed a couple of posts on the forum about the lack of Photography sites in Drupal. My initial plan was to create a full-on Photography Portfolio website but with the little free time I had recently, I think this is decent enough for a day's work! After all, I can add on a trillion new things when the mood strikes and time permits!

Additionally, because there is a lack of photo-centric themes for Drupal, I would like to develop this Photoblog theme further and offer it as a free download off my main website in the future so any suggestions would be welcome!

Books Community using Drupal 6

Hi Everyone,

I've built a books lover community and it's still one the 1st stage. Let me know what you think. If you have your own book you want to publish, just go ahead as its free entirely.

I created this community because i love to read and i think it would be fun to meet people like minded across the world to share the same passion.

AustroFeedr - Real-time Open Data Aggregation, Processing and Publishing in Austria

AustroFeedr creates a universal & open source prototype for aggregation, processing and data publishing in real-time based on the PubSubHubbub-protocol. By implementing the „AustroFeedr Hochwasser“ (flooding) real world use case in cooperation with the Austrian government, it showcases the technology as a monitoring system of river water levels for flood protection in Austria.
