The Online Gaming Community

LANFest is dedicated to empowering gaming communities and supporting charitable efforts by creating unique gaming experiences.

We are an open and inviting community building on the strengths of our diverse members. We look for new members with different experience and skills to add to our team. Our events embrace the LANFest culture along with our online community. We build a brighter LANFest through following these core values, expressing positive behaviors, and working toward the same vision.

Training

The LANFest Tech Internship Program exists to assist underserved demographics in developing STEM business and life skills necessary to succeed in a modern IT career. With a focus on diversity and inclusion, the internship program develops highly skilled candidates with real-world development experience that can succeed in top organizations.

Over the course of 12 months, interns will learn and become proficient in using specific marketable technical skills as well as the soft skills necessary to work on a team. They will also be given multiple opportunities to develop close relationships in their community and with local charities with the intent to foster a habit of giving back. Interns will work on real-world projects that benefit LANFest's charitable initiatives as well as charity partners. In doing so, they will develop a comprehensive production portfolio and work closely with a mentor to solidify their skillsets and create an industry-ready resume.

The LANFest internship program is specifically crafted to work with candidates that otherwise would not have the time or resources to participate in traditional coding bootcamps, classes, or internship opportunities. Interns evenly spread a manageable 16-hour a month workload between 1:1 mentorship training and real-world experience. LANFest accomplishes this feat by focusing internship training on real-world scenario, without requiring time to be spent in theoretical training or classes. This focus on generating real-world experiences allows the program to move at a pace more realistic for its target demographics.

Upon graduation, interns are given opportunities to interview with top IT companies across the U.S., including Amazon, Microsoft, Red Hat, and more.
