baziz commentedPlease update this module by removing the wordstream api service.
Thanks,
baziz

chaloum commentedYep this is an issue I can save my Alchemy key without the wordstream key!
mahmost commentedHow isn't this critical ?!
The module is not working .. You install, click "+ Setup wizard", and then the wordstream error arises .. no work around in the project page or in this issue, and the wordstream support for existing free api keys ends this month
Comment #6
mattkuypers commentedWould appreciate the removal of wordstream from this module so that I can actually use it.
This module requires you to install many multiple dependent modules in order for it to work, only to find that everything is rendered useless because of 1 module that no longer is in use.

firstlevel commentedhaving the same problem. are not able to go through the wizard, when in the first step we have to enter an api-key which we CANT't register...even we cant activate seotools without wordstream (is that diffrent in the dev-version??)
we are losing a bit in trust of what not should be...pls help - thx

c13l0 commentedLooking forward to an update with this issue. SEO tools is a great module, maybe kwresearch can be used as a replacement.
Maybe this could be a temporary solution? I sent this to wordstream...
Hi, I respect your decision for not allowing drupal to use wordstream for free. However, Drupal SEO tools module is now rendered unusable as Wordstream is a required dependency. Is there anyway, wordstream could create a generic non-workable key just so we can continue to use seotools module until the maintainer finds a solution?

waynedge commented..I'm afraid, VERY afraid! I'm a middling newb researching the best config for new drupal sites and applaud the vision shown by tomdude and the crew at L10 with apps (DUDE btw is a reference that should never be self applied; its earned!)
My main concern however is updating core and modules with OE core. In fact, I bucked convention during the original install and elected NOT to update core and modules when prompted by Drupal, because I received a slew of error messages when I did?!! (Not updating works BTW after 5 attempts).
Now, I'm attempting to install the first app (SEO Tools) only to find that my original concerns are well founded.
tomdude, justify for name! Whats to be done about SEO Tools config and wordstream, please? Otherwise, I have no option but to dump OE core and install core drupal instead.
Apologies if this email comes across harshly. I sincerely appreciate what you're trying to do. Your team have accomplished heaps so far. Don't let the good work go to waste!

ScottProck commentedNot sure why this module is still being allowed to stay active. It's obvious any new installations of this module will not work. The WordStream dependency needs to be removed otherwise kill the module so more people don't waste valuable time trying to get this thing to work.

kkasischke commentedForgive me if I've done this incorrectly; this is my first patch submissioon.
I've removed all references to wordstream, and it seems to install OK using the traditional module installation method (i.e. not apps).
mchecksfield commentedPatch installed correctly for me but unsure what it bought me. I still can't disable the wordstream module due to it being required by seo tools. Are you saying you installed the patch and then disabled and uninstalled all the related modules used by seo tools and then reinstalled each module individually?
Thanks.
kkasischke commentedmchecksfield, I'm pretty sure this is what I did:
N.B. The server I was using had some configuration issues which did not allow for the use of the apps functionality. I did download and install the necessary seo modules manually.
mchecksfield commentedkkasischke,
Thanks for the update. That worked like a charm and i am able to go through the setup wizard now. I am getting a strict warning, "Strict warning: Only variables should be passed by reference in seotools_admin_setup()" but that is a different issue and is mentioned here by someone else. http://drupal.org/node/1708508
Thanks!

kt919 commentedHello!
I have only one question - how can I patch the code?
Thanks:)
kkasischke commentedkt919,
If you haven't found an answer yet, please look here for information on applying patches: http://drupal.org/patch/apply

mchecksfield commentedkt919 -
I see kkasischke provided a link as well.
I am testing on Windows and i used NetBeans to apply the patch. Here is the link that talks about applying patches on Windows. http://drupal.org/node/60179

ScottProck commentedIf anyone is interested in another workaround that worked for me, I posted how I did it here ... https://drupal.org/node/1973444

areimunde commentedThat's for 7.x... how about 6.x? There are thousands of 6.x installations out there?
