I've installed the module, set all the users to "subscribe to newsletters", created a newsletter, successfully imported 2000 addresses and associated them with the newsletter I created, but when I try I can create a new message I don't seem to be able to add it it to this newsletter.
I see some text that reads, "Add this newsletter issue to a newsletter by selecting a newsletter from the select list"... but there is no list to select from.
I'm sure I must be missing something obvious...
Thanks in advance.

blogjam commentedI was missing something obvious - I hadn't added the 'Newsletter issue' content type to the 'Newsletter' category.
Status changed to 'fixed'.
Thanks.

ancym commentedHey, I just wanted to say that I had this same issue, and even after reading this comment it took me awhile to find where to fix this. Newsletter issue was already added as a content type, but I did not get the list to select newsletter type from (and therefore could not send a newsletter), until I went to
mysite/admin/content/taxonomy
That is, in the admin menu, Site building -- content management - categories - list
and checked the box next to newsletter issue...
Obvious maybe (but not to me).
Thanks for posting.

Note - this issue is mentioned again here - http://drupal.org/node/219029
edited again to add -
Also here - http://drupal.org/node/194499
and here - http://drupal.org/node/224312
Seems like we are not alone in missing this step - maybe it would be worth adding to documentation somewhere? Sorry I do not know how to do that...hoping that adding it here will help others.

sepeck commentedThere is documentation in the handbooks. I have added a link to the project page.

sutharsan commentedFeel free to update the manual or comment on the page. But from 5.x-1.x-dev version 1.48.2.23 Feb. 23rd this problem should be fixed.
If anyone should care to test this and report Drupal upgrade results with this latest Simplenews 5.x-1.x-dev version, I will make an new release and update the project page with advise on this subject.
