claudiu.cristeaNo existing translation server.
gábor hojtsyThere is a translation server at http://l10n.drupal.zetnet.ro/ with only one contributor. Can you get the maintainer on board?
claudiu.cristeaYes, of course. I will contact him.
gábor hojtsyOk, waiting on answer.
claudiu.cristeaIt seems that the site is partially broken and was setup for testing purposes...
Anyway I will contact the owner to discuss if we can have his support...
gábor hojtsyPlease do not keep changing the status while we are waiting for the feedback, ok?
claudiu.cristeaOK. In fact it was changed by mistake because I read your comments in email and then I get back to browser and replied while the page/form was loaded before you answer - with "active" as default.
Sorry!
claudiu.cristeaThe guy that owns http://l10n.drupal.zetnet.ro/ is the manager of the Romania Group at Drupal Groups. As you can see the group is practically unmanaged for few months. It's been a year since the last "Romanian Community" related post was submitted. The newest posts are only jobs or Drupalcon(camp) announcements.
On http://l10n.drupal.zetnet.ro/ the contact page is not accessible, so I wrote him at:
Till now... no answer
Comment #9
claudiu.cristeaFinally I talked with the owner of http://l10n.drupal.zetnet.ro just before I was leaving for DrupalCon Paris. He expressed that he wants to continue on his site.
I'm interested to start a team work on Romanian localization of Drupal UI. I did the most of the work alone for Drupal 5 (see http://drupal.org/project/ro commits) but it became difficult to keep the rhythm on D6, upcoming 7 or contributed modules.
Claudiu C.
PS: I attended Here comes localize.drupal.org! Congratulations!
gábor hojtsy@claudiu.cristea: any chance we can get him on this issue. These far reaching stories of personal communication make it hard to get our point across I believe. It would be ideal to get his data or at least get him to declare here that he is acknowledging that his work is going to be considered a fork. I obviously have little view into local community dynamics, so not sure about how others consider the two existing sources of translations.
claudiu.cristeaI asked him to comment on this issue but nothing happened. It is in my interest to have him in the team working on UI translation or to get his work. I'm sorry for the "stories of personal communication" but these are the facts. Try to contact him... maybe you'll be successful.
Regarding the translations... Right now the community use the translation from http://drupal.org/project/ro. As I mentioned before, in that server there are only 11 string translated in addition to what we have on http://drupal.org/project/ro.

metal696heart commentedHow can i help ?
claudiu.cristea@metal696heart...
After the Romanian group will be setup you can contribute with translations of Drupal Core & Contrib Modules UI on an online interface. No need for CVS commits, PO desktop editors or other stuff... Everything will be online, based on team work.
More infos here:
Stay tuned!
claudiu.cristeaHi Gabor,
Any updates here?
Thanks,
Claudiu
Comment #18
gábor hojtsyOk, thanks for bearing with us, while we were waiting for feedback. Since the current translation server (1) seems to have only one user judging from its text (2) it seems to be a test setup (3) and there was no feedback on multiple attempts from the maintainer, I went ahead and created the localize.drupal.org team.
Created team at http://localize.drupal.org/languages/ro
Please expect that there might be bumps in the service. You are among the beta-tester of this live instance. Thanks for helping out and please report issues as you find them! Your team members can now join and help import existing translations and work on more translations.
Also note that I've set this up so that it uses a controlled model (that group admins moderate translations). If you'd rather work in an open model (that everyone can directly submit translations), that is up to you and you can edit your group node to reconfigure anytime.
Consequently, I've also removed the listing of the existing server at http://drupal.org/project/l10n_server.
Welcome on board!
claudiu.cristeaThank you!
claudiu.cristeaI had reopened the ticket because it seems that Plural forms are not correctly configured. I cannot find a configuration option to do this
The Romanian language uses this formula for plurals:
Plural-Forms: nplurals=3; plural=n==1 ? 0 : (n==0 || (n%100 > 0 && n%100 < 20)) ? 1 : 2;References:
Thanks!
gábor hojtsyFixed, sorry for the mistake. The localization server data known your plural forms only have two variants, which was obviously bad.
claudiu.cristeaThank you... Do I need to re-import? Or the #2 variant was kept in the DB?
claudiu.cristeaIs there. Thanks!
