i am new to writing modules and I am trying to use hook_folder_alter to replace the phone field on the signup form with the phone information from the user's profile. It is pointless for us collect this information and not storing it for future use. Can anybody point me in the right direct to replace the phone details and ensure that any phone numbers added with a signup are stored and used the next time?
