#NOD8CX: I have no plans to have a full D8 release within even a year of when Drupal 8 is released unless someone else volunteers to co-maintain that branch. This is not meant as criticism of the enormous effort others have but into D8, but an attempt to honestly inform anyone using this module of my plans. If you use this module and want to see it upgraded, open an issue asking how you can get involved and make that happen.

This module automatically update the CiviCRM participate status of a contact a configuration number of hours after an event ends. The intended workflow is that instructor would update the status of anyone who didn't show up or didn't pass a class, but leave everyone else in the Registered status. The modules could be configured to run 24 hours after the events end date/time. This is particular useful when using CiviCRM Multiday Event. If a class meets for 4 Wednesdays over a month, users who stop attending after the first or second class could be "failed" at that time. If everyone else attends the remaining sessions, the instructor doesn't have to do anything and the remaining contacts are certified the next day.

This is the cron functionality from http://drupal.org/project/civicrm_event_autogroup. The certification functionality is now handled by http://drupal.org/project/civicrm_certify.
