Drush (command: generate content entity) does not provide the features of ECK. For this reason, ECK is still preferred.
It's a base module for the structure. But I'm worried about starting a project with ECK.
Is this project alive ?
Really useful module but will it be supported in the future?
Should I use it? Any ideas or alternatives...
thanks

I sent a message to Matroskeen, one of the maintainers, asking about the future of this module. This was his response:

The support has been minimal during the last couple of years because I'm no longer using it on my projects, unfortunately. I'm checking the issues queue once for a while, but it's not enough obviously.
As you know, there are other important things for Ukrainians these days, but I will ask my colleagues whether anyone is interested to pick up the maintenance.
At the same time, let me know if you're interested in co-maintenance.
I don't have enough permissions to invite other maintainers, but I can support your request in the issue.
Before we go that down that road, you can always help in the issues list - review, suggest changes, add tests, etc.

So the message is clear: support is minimal, but feel free to help out in the issue queue wherever you can. I might submit a request for co-maintainership, but in the meantime I'll help out in the issue queue.

Both @kelly.m.jacobs and @amykhailova have volunteered as tribute. If there are any pressing issues you run into, feel free link them, and they can have a look. Thanks a lot, DieterHolvoet!

Good to hear! I think the most pressing thing is to get a D10 compatible release out.
