How to change library views to table with columns

Hi,
I would like to change the library view (the one to select an image to be inserted) to a table view.
This way I could include additional columns like author, date, ....

If I change the views format to table (instead of Media browser plus), than I can't set the selection anymore.
So, this way I can create a table with additonla information, but I can't select an image for insertation anymore.

Any help / idea on this?
