Can you clarify the difference of this module from http://drupal.org/project/dashboard and http://drupal.org/project/homebox ?
It would be great if you would link to those two and state how this differs from them on the project page.
Of course, if it doesn't differ much maybe you would join in and work on one of them (I suggest homebox since it's in use on drupal.org).

The other two projects only have D6 releases at the moment.

gregglesThat's a short term difference - I'm curious about long term differences.

yuriy.babenko CreditAttribution: yuriy.babenko commentedgreggles, the largest difference is, as andrewmacpherson mentioned, D7 compatibility.
The development of UserDashboard was prompted by the need to have a D7-compatible user-specific dashboard for an internal project, and expanding on the D7 Dashboard module was the simplest solution.
Apart from D7 compatibility, largest differences between UserDashboard and the other two modules are in the interface. In my opinion the D7 Dashboard (& thus UserDashboard) has a considerably simpler (although, in some ways, less flexible) approach to letting users configure what blocks are visible on their dashboard. Functionality-wise, both D6 Dashboard and D6 Homebox have a very similar "end-result" to what you get with UserDashboard.
Updating the project page to mention the other modules is a great idea, I'll do that right now.
Cheers.

gregglesCould you add this clarification of how they are different in purpose (i.e. not at all aside from 6.x vs. 7.x)?

rogical CreditAttribution: rogical commentedgreggles, I think you can use both the modules more and present your own opinion on the difference.
Leave our sponsor foucus more on improving the module.

gregglesWell, you obviously can ignore this issue if you want, but duplicate modules are the #1 problem on Drupal.org according to a survey of users of Drupal.org.
In my opinion the responsibility is on the person who creates a newer, duplicating module to write a description of what makes it different.

bryancasler CreditAttribution: bryancasler commentedI had the same question as Greggles, as would any potential user of this module. But reading everyones responses has only frustrated and confused me. Isn't this an obvious question for your module that you would want to clearly address? There are four people doing a lot of explaining to avoid providing any semblance of an answer.

ununpentium CreditAttribution: ununpentium commentedModule creator(s): Please explain the difference/benefit of the D7 UserDashboard and what niche it fills, as compared to the D7 Homebox (now that it exists). The module info page doesn't market itself very clearly, and placing the burden on users to just play around with them to find out for themselves seems to be in poor form.
Thanks.

Fidelix CreditAttribution: Fidelix commentedIt would be good if this is clarified. Efforts are clearly being divided here, which IMO is counter-productive for this particular case.
