North Central University - education powered by Drupal

The Task

North Central University desired a better web presence. Their current site utilized an outdated design, a confusing navigation scheme, and was composed of over 2,700 static pages of content that had become a nightmare to maintain. Not awesome. They needed far more awesomeness in order to compete and communicate in today's education market. Having migrated to Drupal 5 in 2007, NCU had been taking advantage of a few of Drupal's features, but most of the site was still far from flexible and dynamic.

The Goal

The site needed a complete reconstruction. Just how complete, we did not fully realize until we cracked open the existing site to begin migrating content. While the design did change substantially, the most drastic changes were to the way the content was created, managed, and displayed.

I can't understand why ....

when people put their sites up for review they don't list the modules used as a minimum. I am looking for a site that uses the Event module. After going through some 30 site descriptions (prior to going to the site itself) hardly any of them listed the modules the've used. I would have thought a main reason to look at others sites is to discover how it was done. I would cetainly passed a comment if I got something for myself. I did not go to any sites which did not list modules used as it would have been a waste of time.

Anyone done a site using the Event module?

my site...

At first I didn't use drupal much at all. Maybe a contact form, an about me page, etc etc. but lately I've been getting into blogging and instead of using sites like blogspot, etc. I figured I would use my own drupal site after all. So I've started bloggin on my own web site (sounds pretty palm meet face, but I'm a busy man). So I took a theme (nonzero), modified it, added some css3 stuff, and started posting.
I'm trying to blog at least once a day, at worse, once every 3 days.
