I'll be heading a speaker panel about "Bridging the Digital Content Divide". Amongst other things, we'll discussing how we used Drupal and some code to create a fully meshed, censorship proof, distributed, reporting system for dissidents in China and Iran.

FOSDEM, which stands for Free and Open Source Developers' European Meeting, is a free and non-commercial event for the open source community, held in Brussels (Belgium) on February 26-27. Each year (or at least the past three years), FOSDEM sets up developer rooms where teams can meet, discuss, hack and present the latest developments about their project. For more information about FOSDEM's developer rooms, read their Call for presence.
Drupal is going to be presented in a three session panel at the InfoEra conference in Hungary, Békéscsaba. This conference is aimed at high shoool informatic teachers and other interested parties. We are going to present three sessions: and introduction, one about setting up Drupal and one case study based on our experience with the Hungarian Drupal homepage, and other sites. We hope that this is going to help spread the word about Drupal in Hungary a lot.
Dries Buytaert, the father of Drupal and head honcho, will be in Vancouver for OOPSLA and we are organizing a dinner with him and the CivicSpace developers who will also be in town. All of those interested in Drupal, blogs, RSS, content management, digital democracy as pioneered by the Dean, Kerry and Bush campaigns, etc. are welcome.
