Avatar Kit provides dynamic avatars for Drupal 8 entities. It can be used to provide unique avatars for users when they have not uploaded one themselves. It is a replacement for Gravatar and User Pic Kit modules up to Drupal 7.
Avatar Kit 8.x-2.x is the recommended version to install. However there are strict minimum requirements (see below). 2.x Development is paused.

Features
- Local caches: images are downloaded from each service and cached locally.
- Fields: images are inserted into image fields. Enabling integration with the wider field module ecosystem.
- Image styles: since images are stored as fields, you can make use of Drupal image styles.
- Preferences: Users can choose the origin of their avatar. They can upload their own file or use an avatar generator they have permission to access. (8.x-1.x only)
- API: Implement your own avatar service with the Drupal 8 plugin system.
