The project page for the Menu clone module warns:

D7: This module is still in beta and is a complete rewrite of the original port. It is never recommended to use beta versions on a production environment. Please keep a backup of your database to avoid problems later on.

The page was last updated on December 2 2014, according to the date at the bottom. When will the module be taken out of beta and the warning no longer be necessary? I've marked this issue as "critical", because although the module is useful, I don't think it would be professional of me — or any developer — to use it on a client's site when it has this warning. Suppose that it did corrupt the site, but this didn't show up for weeks or months afterwards...?

My reason for wanting it, by the way, is that I want to implement conditional menus, where different options appear depending on the user's rôle. There might be some overlap. In Display Different Menu links an content depending upon user role or user logged in, user "nevets" suggested making multiple menus each with the appropriate links, and then restricting the visibility of a particular menu by user rôle. If the different menus share lots of links, cloning would be useful because it means I don't have to re-enter them all.
