This module has been re-released as a Configuration Kit, ready for Drupal 9.
As such, when installed this module now creates a new content type (Alert), a related taxonomy vocabulary (Alert Severity), and a view for display the alerts. The module will automatically create three severity levels.
Install the alerts_olivero submodule to automatically place a block in the header for displaying up to five alerts. It will also add JavaScript that will allow a visitor to click to dismiss alerts. When dismissed, the alert id is saved in the visitor's localStorage so it will hidden on subsequent page loads and visits.
An editor or site builder can choose the colour to be used as the background for each level of severity.
Version 2: Now a recipe!
The 2.0.x branch of this module has converted the code so the provided configuration can be installed as a recipe. Note that you will likely want to also install the Alerts Format module to enhance the formatting, or add equivalent code to your custom theme.
