Ermanno Falco - Fotografo di Torino: a photographer portfolio website built with Drupal

Hi everybody,

in this post I'd like to present you my latest website: Ermanno Falco - Fotografo di Torino (in Italian).

Ermanno is a photographer which operates in the Turin (Italy) area. He contacted me to create a photograpy portfolio website which he could use to upload his best works. Ermanno needed to indipendently manage the uploading/modify process of contens so it been clear from the bedinning that we needed a dynamic platfrom like Drupal.

Revamped X PRIZE Site

I've been meaning to write a nice thorough case study for our newly re-launched X PRIZE site at http://progressiveautoxprize.org but just haven't had the bandwith to do so. Even though, I still wanted to provide some details as I feel it is a great showcase for a Drupal site :)

The site has quite a bit of unique functionality. The home page provides a centerpiece by utilizing the Frontpage Slideshow (http://www.frontpageslideshow.net/) by way of a module (http://drupal.org/project/fpss) which after lots of research I have found to be a truly beautiful and very flexible tool. It comes with several built in templates and you can easily create your own CSS to customize it even further.

Throughout our development, we devote to provide everyone with a simple, efficient, visual interface for browsering the nodes and posting the comments from beginning to end.

My very first Drupal site USATalks.org

I normally build sites in Joomla or Wordpress but I thought I would try out
Drupal for the first time at http://usatalks.org

Still have a lot of work to do on the site building basic pages like about, privacy e.t.c.
I have spent about 2 days getting up what I have so far.

From the standpoint of someone that has never used Drupal before I will say that installing the
modules is easy configuring them can be pretty tricky.

Ticket Cake - An Event Ticketing Website

TicketCake
TicketCake.com is an event ticketing and promotion start-up that recently launched using Drupal as its framework. The website features an innovative design by White Label Graphics which balances functionality and simplicity.

Because Drupal has many ways to display dynamic content, finding the right way to implement a design can be a problem in itself. To overcome this obstacle, the Ticket Cake team focused a significant amount of time creating wireframes for the project.

Drupal’s unique ability to display content in various ways made the process of developing wireframes a constant back and forth. With each iteration, the team updated price quotes, layouts, and site flow.

“Throughout the construction of the wireframes, we always looked to a keep it simple philosophy that ended up being vital,” said Joe Henriod, head of the Ticket Cake business development team. “Measure twice, cut once.”
