Hello everyone, I feel that it is important to share with you all why I decided to use Drupal, therefore I would like to tell you the whole story.
I am an amateur photographer with the need of sharing some of my work. Photography for me has been a hobby since a couple of years ago, and since then I tried to look for the best and easiest way to share my pictures.
At first, I used Yahoo hosting, with a blog based in wordpress and some html templates using rapidweaver and image galleries created with aperture... too many things made my site a huge mess.
This is a personal and exciting project for me. I've been working with Drupal since www.Lullabot.com turned me on to just how cool it is. That was about three years ago. I’ve designed and built several sites since then. This site brings all my Drupal knowledge into play. But I don't take all the credit. Josh White at http://www.timeforageek.com took this project from being pretty good to great. Thanks for all the help Josh! Below are the details regarding what the site is all about:
Kansas City, Mo -- In the 20 years since Adobe released Photoshop, the world’s leading image manipulation application, the program has become a fundamental tool for graphic designers and renowned photographers worldwide. With the growing popularity of Photoshop among amateur photographers, digital scrapbookers and hobbyists everywhere, there’s increasing demand for not only better training, but also pre-packaged designs and tools that can give beginners and pros the ability to quickly create great-looking documents and images..
We've built this site on Drupal 6 with a customized Zen theme. The blocks with financial quotes are custom PHP. The feeds are also all custom PHP. On the other hand the FAQ and Glossary are modules, they were really easy to set up. All the SEO was setup with modules too, super easy!
I'm looking for an honest critique, how does the site strike at first glance, does it succeed in letting the user know right away whats going on? Is it hard to get to the signals, do they make sense?
We just relaunched the website of Encantar, a belgian classical music ensemble on Drupal 6. The previous website was in Drupal 5 but for the relaunch, a complete redesign was done too.
