CMS Match: Software Comparison 2.0

CMS Match - Software Comparison 2.0CMS Match is a community-driven database of content management systems, shopping carts and discussion boards. Each software title is built on hundreds of CCK fields representing a score for software features such as 'static page caching' or 'W3C compliance'. The power of CMS Match is that registered users may update these scores in real-time. CMS Match is a Web 2.0 crowd-sourced software comparison tool.

The database of thousands of titles is brought to life using:

Morningtime built the CMS Match site with Drupal 6. A big issue with a crowd-driven database is potential abuse and security. The solution was found in the UserPoints suite, integrated with Rules and VoteUpDown to monitor user actions. The website is now built in such a way that minimal human moderation work is required; users with too many negative actions are automatically demoted to a user group without editing rights.

CIMBA is a university based in Asolo, Italy that grants MBA's to students from all over the world. Due to the distance between the different student groups, planning, coordinating, and building the alumni network has proved challenging. Our alumni association membership is in the thousands, however the membership groups are spread out between the multitude of social media networks out there, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and (hold your breath) Twitter.

Amnesty International harnesses the web for human rights

Amnesty International, the world’s largest human rights organisation, has proudly launched its new Aotearoa New Zealand website at amnesty.org.nz. A fresh lick of paint and a range of new features have made the website easier for everyday New Zealanders to learn about, and take action for, human rights.

As well as dramatic improvements to the website’s design, navigation and accessibility, new features include an RSS feed for all news items; interactive online poll; animated feature-story panel; and quick access links to some of the more popular social networking sites.

“Our website is an integral part to our work – new media technology has allowed us to extend the reach of our voice and invigorate creative campaigning,” says Vivian Chandra, Amnesty International Aotearoa NZ’s IT Manager. “This new website makes it easier for visitors to take immediate action for human rights online, and find information in a clear and user-friendly manner.”

Auckland-based web-design company, Sparks Interactive were behind the revamp of the site, with the design and development of the website donated on a pro-bono basis.

This is my second Full Drupal Website and I'm really happy with final product, still have to work a little, but with Drupal I have no limits, this is a website for my family company and I can do almost anything I can imagine. As a webdesigner, not much as a programmer, and also as a freelance, I find Drupal an incredible tool.
