Ideas Media Group Inc. (IMG) and Gloscon Solutions partnered in late 2007 to support, maintain and further develop the former's Drupal CMS based web infrastructure.
Hoffi have just completed the first stages of the Cardiff Design Festival website, launching it with some basic features ready for showcase/awards submissions in July. The website was developed over a period of two weeks, however this was working an hour here and there on the configuration and theme of the website. Links using the Flickr APi allow for content from the festival's flickr group to be pulled in and create interesting backdrops to the website and using the twitter module allows the sites users to provide a simple way to tweet new content.
We're hoping to introduce new features as the website develops and the user base grows, making a more collaborative online community for the design community throughout Wales. Hopefully the site will receive suggestions from the design community and carry the festival throughout the year and not just during the month of October when the festival takes place.
My second Drupal site, we're launching bidmyreno.com in July, 2009 - please feel free to test it out and email me any bugs or usability snafus you might find. We don't use any fancy modules as it's pretty much a simple e-commerce site. We did create a bunch of custom template files to accommodate different user types (clients/contractors) and a bunch of custom forms. Speaking of which, we used the upload module in some forms and the system was pretty restrictive in terms of: a) how many files we could allow the user to upload and b) the layout of the form (i.e.
whhgreens.ca is the basic-information website for the local branch of the Green Party in the Wellington-Halton Hills riding (in Ontario, Canada). It runs on Drupal 5x, and it uses 100% out-of-the-box modules contributed by the wonderful people on the drupal.org site, so no coding skills were required to put it together (beyond a little CSS :)
Features
The site is a pretty standard general community group-type site--an easy-to-post-to venue for doling out information to involved and curious parties. Its needs/features include:
giving general info about the group
a means for contacting the group without getting a ton of spam
posting blog entries and news as needed by multiple users
listing events
looking somewhat interesting (not 100% text…)
(Also, during federal elections, it highlights policy information tailored to the local area and has links to outside press coverage, but it doesn't use any extra modules to do this).
Highlights of the Modules Used
Views-setting up menu items/pages for news or blogs or articles, so that Drupal would automatically suck new posts of the right category/content type onto the pages without anyone having to do anything Calendar (& Date/DateAPI)-posting events
