Arasan Chip Systems Inc.

Arasan Chip Systems Inc. is a leading provider of Total Semiconductor IP Solutions with international offices all over the world. We were approached for revamping its corporate website which would help them manage their vast content easily. Initially there were lots of discussion as to what cms was to be used. Finally we decided to build it using Drupal looking at the flexibility and the modular approach that Drupal provides.

Challenges faced
The old website of Arasan was using MSSQL as the database. We had to migrate about 9500 users into the new website with the profile information, their newsletter subscriptons along with the records related to their interest of the products. We had to write custom scripts to finish this task.
The other challenging task of this project was the integration between the Drupal and the NetSuite CRM used by Arasan. We would be soon releasing a module which was built to achieve integration for NetSuite CRM. This custom built module would capture leads from the website and the push them into the CRM which is one of the primary requirements of the client. We are in the process of cleaning up this module and will release it once it is done.

Fastport Passport Website

This week we launched our new site FastportPassport.com selling emergency passport services. Our company works with the U.S. Department of State to issue, renew, replace, or modify passports in as little as 24 hours.

The site is built on Drupal 6 core and uses Ubercart to handle the e-commerce. Most modules in use are Ubercart modules intended to simplify Ubercart for the user, and work towards increasing conversion rates. This means no review screens, no cancel buttons, and overall fewer clicks for the user.

Oriental Martial Arts College

Please see The Oriental Martial Arts College world headquarters website.

The revamp of OMACworld was brought about due to the old site being a basic "billboard" style site that was very difficult to update and maintain. I chose to use Drupal as I thought it would be easiest for our mostly non-technical school owner to be able to use (although I haven't gotten him to do anything more than write a single blog post so far...).

I've used CCK and Views to create branch locations, class schedules, and lists of masters/instructors. Also used the Event module to create a couple of different kinds of events (Camps, Tests, Competitions). Used Nice Menus to create easily modifiable menus. Currently almost no custom coding required.

Future work includes:
* using carousel/slide show for
** shortening the current static images that link to the discipline pages
** adding "excitement" to the current stories instead of basic blocks
* Fixing the carousel with the videos to look correct
* adding Ubercart-based webstore to allow for event registrations (this is taking a lot of work, because it needs event, web form, and UC)
* modifying the Location CCK content type to handle our international schools (currently using things like US Zip and US Phone, which precludes inserting international addresses)

Lookbook-like site based on Drupal

Hi everybody,

I created a showcase of a site which allows people to share and tag their fashion looks. I would say it is a mixture between twitter and lookbook.nu:

- you can follow people's looks you like
- you can post and tag your own looks
- it is a very simple and straightforward concept

-> http://lllook.net (you can subscribe and test it if you want)

For me this was a proof of concept and now I wonder what I should do with it. Any ideas or questions are more than welcome!

Cheers,
