false positives for favicon in logs

After searching Drupal.org unsuccessfully for solutions, I am posting here.

In the journal log (Drupal 7), I am seeing multiple "page not found" log entries for favicon image.

In fact, that URL displays the image correctly.

How can I stop this false positive, erroneous 404?

Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

Cordially,

Lydie

The infinite horrors of D6 to D7 upgrades - some experiences

If I'm reading project usage stats correctly, there are still 50,179 websites out there with Drupal 6.x as of July 15, 2018. Maybe even more which stopped sending data to drupal.org after 'update_status' became useless two years ago. That's quite a lot, and it seems puzzling because D6 is EOL since February 24th 2016.

Restoring multiple pages from Drupal from files (no backup)

Hello,

We had an installation of several pages in a drupal 6 instance, and it seems that we were attacked and the service provider blocked our server (we only could get all the files via FTP)

Now we are trying to restore the websites in a new server (we have the database up and running) but we are not succeeding. What would be the best process to do it? Start with an empty drupal 6, and copy the sites ans other files, and then reinstall? or copy all the files from the drupal folder into the new server and run the install again for each website?

suggest a good managed hosting company

Hello, Janella here — I run several websites including Blog Name Generator.

I'm currently looking for a reliable managed VPS hosting solution for one of my high-traffic Drupal sites.

While researching options, I came across Pressable, which offers managed hosting tailored for WordPress but also works well for Drupal setups, especially when performance and uptime are priorities.
