julianopie.com is a new site for the artist Julian Opie using Drupal 6. The site uses Flash throughout, incorporating complex animations. It showcases thousands of artworks and exhibitions.
The site was built with a Flash front end, using Services and AMFPHP to interact with the Drupal backend. SWFObject displays the flash, SWFAddress ensures that each page has a unique URL. The Flash front end incorporates a large amount of stop-frame animation and AS3 code to tie it all together. After Effects was used to prepare the animations for flash.
I've been working with drupal for a little while now and developing this site has been a big undertaking. The site is split in two really, the main part of the site is meant for PR purposes and to introduce first time visitors to the game. The second part is basically a community portal with integrated forums, blogs and a gallery as well as a bug tracking system that is only available to beta testers for the game.
It's still somewhat WIP but the main features are in now and we have plenty of people using the forum which I really pleased with.
